The Green Goddess is the nickname for the locomotive No. 1 of the RH&DR, officially named "Green Goddess – Samson." It is a 4-8-2 steam locomotive built by the Greenly's Model Steam Locomotive Works in 1925. It is one of the original locomotives of the railway and is still in operation today, providing steam-hauled passenger services.

The locomotive is painted in a striking green livery, which led to its nickname, "Green Goddess." It has become an iconic symbol of the Romney, Hythe, and Dymchurch Railway and is beloved by both railway enthusiasts and visitors to the area.
